Duplicating records for speed and efficiency.

One at time overlooked feature is the possibility to duplicate records for quick creation. You can use this feature to for instance create a quote that has an option for one part with two scenarios. First one includes the raw material cost and the second one does not. So once you have created the first scenario simply duplicate the part, this will create a new part with identical data , navigate to your material section in the work item and delete the cost for it.

Update you now have the second scenario ready with two clicks. Bring the two parts in a quote and you are done. The same approach work inside the Online Quote line items and also with assemblies.
